On January 11, 2007 Joaquin Velilla lost his life while surfing Pipeline. His entire life was devoted to surfing and shaping. He lived a humble life, full of passion and dedication to his craft and his sport, unconditional love for his family and friends and respect to the ocean and the watermen who charge it. The level of quality and detail he put into his boards can very well be described as the work of a true talented master. In his short 35 year life he humbly took in all Hawaii had to teach him, always feeling very proud and privileged to be working amongst the world's best.

As for those of us who are left behind, we are going to miss him immensely, but his spirit will always be kept alive every time we take care of our minds, bodies and souls to go out into the ocean, and charge.

Thank you for your visit.

Check out these designs I made to cover most surfer's needs in a quiver. These boards are constructed in polyester and epoxy from a variety of foam and wood cores ( Bennett, Walker, KingMac, USBlanks, Marko Foam EPS, Fusr-eps, XTR, and balsa blanks ) . You can order glass on fins, FCS, Futures, and F.U. boxes. Airbrushes, resin color work, cloth inlays, and paint pen are available art.

Joaquin left behind a few handshapes he had scanned into the (CDR) computer.
